Farm Vision!
My Vision!
The main objective of Michigan Flower friend is to provide safe, organic floral products for use in specialty design work. I am doing my part in working toward a less toxic industry. Floral design is one of my greatest passions. I would love for it to be less harmful on the environment. Eventually (if possible) I would like to find a way to grow flowers year-round.
I plan on growing a variety of native plants for people to use in their home/business landscape projects. Pollinator plants are so important, and I feel often overlooked when designing landscapes. I would like to educate people on why they are the best plants to have in your gardens!
MFF will offer workshops to help individuals and groups interested in floral design to build important and creative designs skills.
The farm will offer CSA shares that will support a free farm stand for anyone in the community who may be in need.
More Flowers, More Produce!
Goals for 2024.
I learned so much this season. I plan to apply everything I have learned and do it bigger and better next season.
Looking toward next season… I would love to add a greenhouse. I am currently researching what type of structure will suit me best. I am looking for something that will last a long time and be the most sustainable.
Double the size of the current growing area.
Adding a water catchment system and rain garden.
We are collecting bricks to build a 12 x 40 patio for hosting small gatherings.
A goal of 12 CSA members to pick up on site on Mondays.
Get the “free stand” functional. The free stand will be a self-serve farm stand that offers free produce to neighborhood families.
Way in the Future… A cooler for storing floral and produce, a designated CSA pick-up area.

I would love to offer affordable workshops on a monthly basis. I am working on ideas now for the future.
